Shoprite Holdings Ltd is a leading retail group in Africa, with its headquarters in Cape Town, South Africa. Founded in 1979, the company has grown to become one of the largest retailers in Africa, operating over 2,800 outlets across 15 African countries.

Joining the Shoprite group as the first UX Specialist came with the ambitious task of designing all of their digital experiences, design capabilities and evangelise design and design thinking.

During my time, my team and I designed the Checkers digital experience from the ground up for both web and native mobile. Reimagining how customers shop in-store we created a suite of digital products integrated with their rewards program and on-demand grocery delivery platform Sixty60 (which we also designed).
